First for Everything
Today, on the way to church, when I was already on the verge of being a few minutes late- POW! While waiting at the red light, in my favorite new car ever, with my children talking amongst themselves, some guy in a Toyota Rav4 SLAMS into the back of us. Thank goodness I had my foot on the brake, or I would have rammed the car in front of me! When I looked in my rearview mirror, this poor guy had his face buried in this hands. Not a good morning for him either. Our cars were stuck together, so after some effort, I was able to break free, drive through the intersection, pull over, and do the exchange information thing. THIS WAS MY FIRST ACCIDENT IN 18 years! I was so flustered, I tried to get out of there quickly. How awkward is that situation?????!! He knew it was his fault. He apologized. Noone was hurt. My bumper was cracked and my hitch messed up, but we could both drive-away. Yikes! Not looking forward to that for another 18 year or more. When I called his insurance today, they took the facts, and then said something that worried me a bit… “It appears there is a minor issue with his coverage, but we should be able to sort it out soon.” What does that mean????? I guess I get to learn how this all goes… his insurance, my insurance…. Trying to keep the joy in North Idaho… :*)![]()

Yikes…hope everyone is ok… Oh and by the way…This is NOT your first accident. Don’t you remember your first car…the one that was totaled the first day you drove it? Yep…right in front of Riverside Christian. Head on collision I think…Not your fault though…some lady pulling away from the curb looking back rammed into you. Probably blocked that one out as traumatic experience. Oh….almost forgot…next car…roll over…landed upside own on Van Buren…No one hurt…just bruised ribs, thank God. hummmm….they say the memory is the second thing to go… I don’t remember what the first is!

I think your mom just ratted you out! LOL So we have a coincidence… I too got into a car accident in Riverside on the first day I drove by myself! I think I was on Market… or Mission… I was lost, wherever I was! LOL The accident wasn’t my fault though… thank goodness!
I also got rear ended in 2001 in my Acura. I loved that car! Totalled the whole thing… BUT it helped me get my first minivan which was a good thing since I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks later!
THEN there was this past December when a dumb girl ran a stop sign and plowed into me… not much damage done but she didn’t have insurance… and now that we know about Kennedy’s damaged vertibrae in her neck we realize how incredibly scary and potentially fatal that could have been. Thank God for His protection!
Anyway, I went off on a tangent there! SORRY to hear about your car! Accidents are so nerve wracking, whether it’s your fault or not. I am so glad no one was hurt and I’ll be praying the insurance thing gets worked out without a huge struggle! Keep us posted!!

I did say the first in 18 years…. I am 38 years old, and both of those happened before the age of 20…. So, I didn’t forget. I was just counting my adult life :*)
